Knife Care

Store the blade in a knife block, saya, blade guard, or on a suitable magnetic strip.
Complimentary First Sharpening
Eligible knives purchased from Tetsu & Oak include their first standard sharpening at no additional cost. Proof of purchase may be required.
Major chip repair, thinning, rust removal, reprofiling, and restoration work are not included.
Restore dull kitchen knives and maintain a clean working edge with the Suehiro CERAX 2020 #1000 Ceramic Whetstone.
This medium-grit Japanese water stone is suited to routine sharpening and refining an edge after coarse repair work. Its generous sharpening surface offers plenty of room for stable, consistent strokes across full-size chef’s knives and other kitchen cutlery.
The stone is mounted on a fitted base for improved stability and hand clearance during sharpening.
Features:
• Manufacturer: Suehiro
• Series: CERAX
• Model: 2020
• Grit: #1000 medium
• Ceramic water stone
• Large sharpening surface
• Mounted base
• Made in Japan
Directions:
Soak the stone thoroughly in clean water before use. Place it on a stable, non-slip surface and keep the sharpening surface wet throughout the process.
Maintain a consistent sharpening angle and work until an even burr develops, then repeat on the opposite side. Finish with alternating light strokes to reduce the burr before moving to a finer stone or leather strop.
Care:
Rinse away all sharpening residue after use and allow the stone to dry completely in a well-ventilated area. Flatten the surface periodically to maintain consistent contact with the blade.
Do not leave the stone submerged for extended periods or expose it to freezing temperatures, extreme heat or a dishwasher.
